Seminar on Consent to Sex and Relationships for People with Disabilities

Date: 6th September 2017

Venue: Institute for Lifecourse and Society, NUI Galway

Sarah Richardson and Maria Mahony presenting using a poster of pictures from Maria’s life.

The barriers people with intellectual disabilities face if they wish to have romantic or intimate relationships and issues around consent to sex has been at the centre of numerous advocacy campaigns and law reform efforts in recent years. This seminar looked at how the law has changed in this area recently and what still needs to be done.
